Your Wedding Spray Tan Timeline: When to Trial, Tan & Glow

Your Wedding Spray Tan Timeline: When to Trial, Tan & Glow

Your wedding glow should feel like you—only a little more radiant.

A professionally customized spray tan can create beautiful, believable color that photographs naturally, complements your dress, and gives you one less thing to think about on your wedding day. The secret is not going as dark as possible. It is choosing the right color, planning the timing, and following a wedding-specific protocol.

Start With a Trial Tan

Schedule your bridal trial approximately three to four weeks before the wedding.

A trial gives us time to:

  • Discuss the color and depth you want
  • Consider your natural complexion and undertones
  • Customize a formula that looks natural on you
  • See how the color develops and photographs
  • Adjust the final formula if needed

If possible, coordinate your trial with a dress fitting, makeup trial, bridal shower, or another event. This lets you see your glow with your makeup, dress color, and professional photography before the big day.

Bring inspiration photos if you have a specific look in mind—but remember that your ideal result should be created for your skin, not copied from someone else.

Schedule Your Final Tan 2–3 Days Before the Wedding

Your final spray tan should be scheduled two to three days before your wedding.

This allows time for the initial color to develop, your first rinse, and the finished tan to settle into a softer, more natural-looking glow. It also gives you breathing room before the rehearsal dinner and wedding-day preparations begin.

For a Saturday wedding, Wednesday evening or Thursday is typically ideal.

Prepare Your Skin Before the Appointment

Your preparation directly affects how evenly your tan develops and fades.

Before your appointment:

  • Complete shaving, waxing, manicures, pedicures, and spa treatments in advance
  • Exfoliate thoroughly the day before
  • Arrive with clean, dry skin
  • Avoid lotion, oils, perfume, deodorant, and makeup
  • Wear loose, dark clothing and easy-to-remove shoes afterward

Once your tan has developed and you have completed your recommended rinse, gently pat your skin dry and moisturize consistently. Avoid aggressive exfoliation, soaking, and products that could shorten the life of your color.

Make It a Bridal-Party Experience

Spray tanning does not have to be another appointment everyone coordinates separately.

Sunny & Sheer offers mobile group bookings for three or more people, bringing the entire setup directly to your home, hotel, or getting-ready location. Bridesmaids, mothers of the couple, the groom, groomsmen, and other wedding-party members can each receive a customized formula rather than one identical shade for the entire group.

Appointments take approximately 15 minutes per person, require minimal space, and create a fun, convenient part of wedding-week preparation.

A Wedding Glow Designed for You

Sunny & Sheer has provided spray tans throughout Northern Colorado since 2009. Every appointment includes a personal color consultation and a custom approach based on your complexion, preferences, wedding schedule, and desired result.

The goal is not to make you look “spray tanned.”

It is to help you look rested, radiant, and completely confident in every photograph—from the first look to the last dance.
